It's almost Passover! Jews all over the world are getting ready for a week of unleavened items. Here at my house we've finally finished off all of the various kinds of flour and things that contain flour, and we're almost ready to break out the matza!
But Rena, my very favorite vegan, was apparently ready a few weeks ago. She found this label and thoughtfully sent it to me.
See? It says, "Out Flour!" Evidently she had a good head start, and has been using products that endorse banning flour use. Oh, wait, what's that? Ohh... I see. It's supposed to say *Oat* flour. My mistake :)
Thanks for thinking of me, Rena!
Naturally, I'm posting this to Lesley's meme, Signs, Signs. Have a great week, everyone! And a great Passover!

I'm more concerned that they have to label it "naki me'tolaim -- Free from worms". I never realized that other flours may actuallly not be worm-free,
A very interesting slip on the bag's packaging! And the worm free element (the fact that it needs to be stated) surprises me!
Free from worms makes it ideal for a vegan.
I don't think I would want to try that flour!
Yeah, the organic part might make me wonder about worms :-) Nice find!
Who'd have thought reading labels could be so much FUN? :))
this reminds me to dig out from my archives something i got from the supermarket.
That is pretty unusual - the printing about “no worms.” I wonder what that is saying about the “other” oat flour. The mistake on the package is something else. Can;t believe no one caught it.
the free from worms is a bit of a scary thought!
I only saw free from worms. Cute.
wow, this is interesting and i dont know what to say ;-)
I'm so glad to know that I'm your favorite vegan. How many vegans do you know? The bug thing is kind of gross. I sift all flour before I use it, just in case. I'm glad that you were able to use the picture. I'll keep my eyes out for more fun stuff.
The fact that they claim they are worm free is disturbing. Steibel, my favorite, does not claim to be worm free. Should I be worried? ;-)
When I was a vegan I never thought to check if my flour had animal products in it. Some things you just take for granted.... or should you....
What out for worms in flour? I never thought about that! Love learning something new!
Blessed Passover to you.
That got me smiling... good sign post! I don't ever see worms in my oats, but I do see small bugs in our rice!
Now all these comments have me worried about my flour! I didn't even notice the worm free part of the label - I was laughing over the "out" and thinking it must mean "oat". Yeesh, another thing to stress over! :=}
It's the "free from worms" line below that I find interesting! Hmmmmm....
I've been enjoying your blog since I discovered you a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for sharing the humor! It reaches even here in Southern California....
Chag sameach to you and your family...
